According to an authentic hadith in Sahih Muslim, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: ‘The most beloved of your names to Allah are Abdullah and Abdur-Rahman.’ Both names express servitude to Allah — ‘servant of Allah’ and ‘servant of the Most Merciful’ — reflecting the core Islamic value of worshipping only Allah. Beyond these two, names of the Prophets mentioned in the Quran (such as Ibrahim, Yusuf, Musa, Ismail, and Yaqub) are also highly recommended, as are names that reflect good character, strength of faith, or beautiful meanings rooted in Islamic values.
